Here is the overall specs and mods on my car so far. I'm trying to keep an

original look, but adding some flare here and there.

VIN plate:

Body   Color   Trim   Date    DSO   Axle    Trans

    65A       F          22     07V        75       2            6

           Vehicle Warranty Number

            5R07T 254056

VIN Decode:

    Body:  2-Door Hardtop

    Color:  Arcadian Blue

    Trim:   Blue

    Date:   August 7, 1965

    DSO:   Phoenix, AZ

    Axle:   2.83.1

    Trans:  C-4 automatic

    Assembly Plant:   San Jose

Engine code:   6 cyl. 200 Cu. In. (1v)

Since my mustang was built in August of 1965 I have discovered some 1966 parts on my mustang. Ford was starting their 1966 production line in mid 1965 and one of my cars is the proof of that. The DSO # I found on my car hasn't coincided with the books I've collected over the years. The part numbers on the frame, wheels, and engine all belong to a 1966 mustang, though they were put there by Ford. Everything on the outside of the car is of 1965, but all the under carriage is 1966 by part numbers.

MODS

Radio

I've installed a custom radio installation for loud tunes while driving down the road. Check out the radio here.

Engine Head

All the seats, plugs, valves, springs etc have been replaced. I had 1.75" intake valves installed and the head resurfaced. A Clifford exhaust port divider has been installed.

Engine Block

Not much here. I discovered after cleaning the top of the pistons off from all the carbon build up that .030 over pistons were installed. Yeah, saved me money there.

Ignition

Using the original type distributor, I replaced the points with the Pertronix Ignitor II and put in a FlameThrower II chrome coil. Bosch Platinum spark plugs.

Interior

Blue with white inserts in the seats. Custom padded rear deck with 6x9 speakers. Woodgrain Pony steering wheel courtesy of the previous owner.

Paint

I didn't like the pale Arcadian blue that was on the car originally. After looking at some mustang books, I came across a dark blue mustang. I was in love. Turned out that the dark blue was Caspian Blue. I need to redo the paint job. Its fading. Damn Macco. PPG Cobalt Blue is going to be the new color.

In the future:

Cooling

In the future will be a 3 core radiator and A/C again. I have the factory A/C but the compressor went out and having a header doesn't help either. We'll see how it goes.

Exhaust

Pacemaker coated dual out header and Dynomax SuperTurbos.

Instruments

Haneline instrument panel with six gauges. CNC billet bezel when I can afford it.
